stories sculpted in every piece
One of the most exciting and inspiring collaborations we had while creating Aegean Stories was undoubtedly with the talented Tochka Ceramics pottery studio team - Tania and George.
Taking on this project was no small feat, but the duo embraced the challenge with passion and creativity. After numerous experiments and tries, the result is absolutely breathtaking! And we’re just getting started. Working alongside them revealed a true treasure trove of hard work, tradition, and impeccable taste – a journey made even more magical by Angelica’s golden touch.
Clay handcraft and pottery are deeply woven into Greek culture, with roots that stretch back thousands of years. That’s why we knew it was essential for a large part of our project to be handcrafted from clay: from our custom coffee cups and tableware to decor objects and even the main entrance sign, every piece carries a little piece of Aegean Stories.
For us, the beauty of handcrafted pieces lies in their uniqueness—each one a reflection of the artist’s skill and passion. Unlike mass-produced items, they carry a personal touch, crafted with care, sustainability, and natural materials. More than just objects, they connect us to the Earth, tradition, and timeless artistry.
Handcrafted products also support local artisans and small businesses, preserving traditional techniques while boosting the local economy. This is an integral part of our mission.
Today, the art of clay handcraft continues to thrive in Greece and Cyprus, with artisans producing stunning, one-of-a-kind pottery, sculpture, and more, all rooted in ancient techniques. These treasures aren’t just beautiful; they embody the rich cultural heritage of Greece, connecting us all to something timeless.
